Examples for possible machine configurations
Cross unit / Longitudinal unit / Brush roller
Cross sanding method
For an optimised sanding result and excellent surface the cross sanding method is absolutely recommendable - this is particularly valid for wood sanding.
At least one cross and one longitudinal sanding unit is used. The cross unit first sands across the fibre direction of the wood. Thereby, the wood fibres are cut off and cannot raise again after the lacquering process. The higher standing hard annual rings are cut off by the cross belt - by this the "wash-board" effect with soft and hard annual rings and gaps is avoided. The cross belt is more suitable for the removal of taping paper and scotch tape than the longitudinal belt.
Longitudinal belt: Following to the cross sanding the longitudinal unit sands in direction of the fibre and by this a perfect surface is achieved.

Cross unit / Longitudinal unit / Longitudinal unit / Brush roller
Application: Cross sanding with following fine sanding and a higher final grit resp. higher feed speeds.
Industry: Veneered panels, furniture industry

Longitudinal unit / Cross unit / Cross unit / Longitudinal unit / Brush rollers
Application: flexible configuration for veneered panels with longitudinal and cross veneers.
Industry: veneered panels, furniture industry

Longitudinal unit / Cross unit / Cross unit / Longitudinal unit / Longitudinal unit / Brush rollers
Application: perfect for sophisticated fabrication with at least
double aftersanding in veneer direction for longitudinal and
cross veneered parts.
Industry: veneered panels, furniture industry, office furniture

Longitudinal sanding unit with pressure segment belt
Application: for an optimised sanding result it is possible to equip the last sanding unit with a pressure segment belt. The pressure of the sanding belt only occurs in the area of the segments - thereby interruption of the sanding belt traces and a more harmonious surface.

Longitudinal sanding unit with CSD-Plus Double pressure beam
Application: When using a longitudinal sanding unit with a double pressure beam CSD-Plus for certain applications a finer sanding result can be achieved. It works with two independents controllable pressure beams in one sanding unit. Thereby, a finer surface results.
